TFT VESA Standards

When purchasing your TFT wall mount remember to check your manual to see which VESA fitting you will need. It is most likely that your TFT monitor will use the VESA standard which is known as the flat display mounting interface or FDMI. There are many FDMI standards which your TFT monitor will use:

  • MIS-D 75 – The screws to mount your TFT monitor are 75mm x 75mm apart. These can usually handle monitors with a weight of 30kg. This will typically be no larger than a 22.9 inch screen.
  • MIS-D 100 – The screws to mount your TFT monitor are 100mm x 100mm apart. A VESA MIS-D 100 wall mount can usually handle a weight of 30kg. On average this should be no larger than a 22.9 inch screen.
  • MIS-E – The holes to mount your TFT monitor are 200mm x 100mm apart. It is recommended that you do not mount a TFT screen which will not weigh more than 23.7kg with a VESA MIS-E wall mount. This is for TFT’s which are between 23 inches and 30.9 inches.
  • MIS-F – The monitor will have multiple points to adjust the way you mount your TFT monitor. A MIS-F mount can be adjusted in 200mm increments and a adapter plate maybe needed for larger screens. A MIS-F wall mount will be used for screens larger than 30 inches and weigh less than 113.6kg.
  • Other VESA standards such as MIS-B and MIS-C which are designed for smaller TFT monitors which maybe mounted in a car or a kitchen.
